I just read three different articles on the same subject. The EXACT same press conference quote was used in each one.

That's pathetic, all things considered. It's not like entertainment execs are short on words.

I still want college to be over.

Catholics

Everyone I know is Catholic. Everyone in my neighborhood, my family (except one), my life. Well, either that or was raised Catholic or went to Catholic school. I can only think of two friends who I know for a fact will never be Catholic.
Of these, I don't know a single real Catholic that reads Christian lit or listens to Christian music exclusively. Most won't even do it on purpose. Most of them have had sex and if pressed, would probably admit that Kerry shouldn't be excommunicated and that stem cell research might have merits in the right hands. Lots of them are embarrassed to broadcast their Church roots due to scandals about money and sex and children. Most of them are so Catholic and so surrounded by Catholic that they don't even notice when they quickly cross themselves while passing a Church or automatically speak more respectfully to a priest or a nun than any other adult.
They don't even notice. And most of my friends are still wearing last nights eyeliner when they stumble into Mass in a hoodie and jeans.

How do you know you're a Catholic??

You can say this:

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy Catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

Of course, since Catholic means "universal," the only real difference is the capital C.
And of course, the belief that an organizational structure so powerful it has shaped moderrn art, medicine, music, speech, and communications is an important part of a global faith community, and that such an organization needs a leader so full of grace and understanding that even though he is human, as humble and deserving as the simplest pauper, he is held as an example to others, and honored for the dedication of his life and safety to the Church.

old friends

So many people have contacted me this year for christmas / my birthday who i have not seen or heard from in months or even years. So it reminded me of another such person who out of the blue contacted me due to a book, which by the way i want back now that i know he has it, and then facebook friended me, and then un-friended me, and then blocked me, which is very dull and strange.
anyway, now i hate him which i never did before and it bothers me that he thinks i care so much as to block me. from...what? so screw him.

forever

I think this person is sad. It makes me sad. And it makes me glad that I have a relationship with someone who tells me what he wants. I will never feel like that woman feels. That makes me lucky.
